Beyond Leadership: Enabling workplace and personal transformation through harnessing wisdom, age and experience

An unusual opportunity for men to develop successful personal and workplace tools for navigating and sailing in the third age. This journey goes way beyond personal leadership and addresses the question: What is it to be an Elder and Leader?

“The older I get the less I listen to what people say and the more I look at what they do.“ Andrew Carnegie

Recent research following men and women from their teens to old age reveals clear indicators of how to live a more fulfilling, satisfying and rewarding life in later years. This research suggests the potential for an aging male population to create new roles in work relationships, personal relationships and in our communities and in the lives of other men. The research suggests new roles in the workplace such as mentoring and coaching of a younger less experienced workforce.

This two-day workshop offers empowering ways to experience and harness the process of getting older.

Participants go through a step by step inner process that offers skills and techniques which have immediate personal impact as well as workplace impact. The programme deals with personal stories and real life cases and situations which enhance the sustainability of the learnings. The course is built on years of experience and research and draws on western as well as traditional lessons and wisdom. It taps into the shared learning and experience of the facilitators and course participants.

Multiple development methodologies are used to suit participants’ different learning styles.

The program creates a context for effective interventions and includes creating the following supportive environments (qualities in the group):

  • authenticity
  • trust
  • communication
  • self-reflection
  • understanding
  • connection
  • celebration
  • implementation
  • evaluation and closure

The program is delivered over two days but a delay between days one and two. This allows participants time to reflect on the content of the first day, both personally and in the context of the workplace. This enables participants to get the maximum from the day two material.

Why is Beyond leadership ….. only presented to men – I for one feel that a woman can gain from this event.
