‘Conflict is inevitable but combat is optional.’ Max Lucado
This morning is designed for anyone who every time they sense the smallest possibility of conflict, wants to run the other way.
When we find ourselves in a conflict situation, whether we realize it or not, we experience the following:
We feel weakened, fearful, unsettled and unsure of ourselves. We then move to a self-absorption stage that involves discrediting the other party. It’s a very negative experience, clearly. It gets worse as the conflict intensifies. That’s the negative conflict spiral and it’s a cycle of disempowerment and distance.
What if conflict is not is not your enemy but your friend?…
It is possible to change a negative and destructive force to a positive and constructive part of the dynamic of human interaction.
You’re invited to join a group of like-minded people to discover the hidden potential of conflict.
We will cover the following:
The fundamentals of Conflict
Facilitate listening and speaking
Change the conversation – listen for meaning and convert attack to information
Look for ways to move forward – tools to constructively express what is important
Participants will have the opportunity to explore their personal conflicts and find new ways to resolve them.
